Household inventory corrupt?

Hey there!  The other day I was re-arranging my Sims' basement and their household inventory was not how I had it.  All their things were gone IE awards from being promoted and a few things I had put there until I had a place for them.  All their camping things from Granite Falls were gone as well.  However, some of the things in their inventory were already things I have in their home.  What's weird is when I sold them out of the inventory, their doppelganger in the house vanished!  I already tried to repair the game to no avail.  I'm not too savvy with technical stuff so I continued forward figuring to just ignore it right now.  However, one of my Sims just reached the top of his career, but his award is nowhere to be found.  This is going to be frustrating now and I don't know what to do or how to repair this let alone why this has happened    I do have some minor mods for decorations, but things were fine up 'til this point.  I hope someone can help me.  Thank you so much.

Welcome to the forum  There is definitely some sort of inventory glitch in the game right now. Doppelgangers and missing items seem part of the symptoms with some people having both or one or neither! One of the symptoms I am constantly getting is duplicates and, like you mention if you drag out one of the duplicates often both have vanished from your game after going through a loading screen.

There doesn't seem to be any work-arounds presently but you just have to be super mindful of how you are using your sims personal inventory and the household inventory.

This link takes you to the Sims 4 Bug Reports. There are a few threads that sort of mention this glitch but nothing definitive that covers all aspects.

Also, it is totally worth your time to check that your mods are updated to the last game patch, and maybe even worth testing your game without them. Perhaps it is the mods causing the issues for you and that you in fact don't have the vanilla inventory glitch.
