How to impress celebrities?

My sim currently has two wishes to impress Nancy and Geoffery Laandgrab. I'm at their house right now, but as I speak to nancy, the option for "Try to impress" doesn't come up.



I've done that option before. This guy's wife impressed Nancy, per a want, during a recent birthday party. But why isn't it showing up now?

That doesn't make any sense! Why would the game give me a wish I can't complete?

This has happened to me before. Sometimes children will get a wish to impress celebrities which is not something kids can do.

By chance, does the Sim have the Insane trait? That could be what's causing it; the trait itself does say on one of it's bullet points that "Your Sim's wishes may not always make sense".
