Does anyone know - Can't place community lot *Fixed!!*

Forgive me if this is the wrong place for this question, but...

Does anyone know how to place some of the clubs/bars from Late Night into Island Paradise?

I've gone to Edit Town>changed the lot to community>changed the lot type to match the building I want to move there, but when I try to "place copy" the availability of the lot disappears, indicating I can't place it there or on any other lot in IP.  I've got more than enough room as the lot size exceeds the needs of the building, with room to spare on the lot.

Maybe the two aren't designed to be compatible at all, but if anyone knows how to cheat my way around it, I'd LOVE to hear it.

This happened to me just recently, but I am blanking at the moment of how I fixed it other than used MasterController to reset everything in the town.

It's a brand new game that I just started.  There's no sims on the lot where I'm trying to place the building at all.'
I also don't use CC or any mods like MasterController.

Ah okay. I'm not sure how to reset the town other than that as resetsim * doesn't do much. Although. Go look at the lots you're trying to put the community lots on to see if they have any trees and/or stuff like that. As sometimes they won't allow you to put anything on them if they have trees on them. If they do, you can bulldoze the lot and then try placing the community lot again.

I haven't had the chance to try this in-game. But if you'd like to try this:

Change the lot you want to community. From the drop down list, try selecting visitors allowed. Then try placing your community lot again to see if that helps.

Went into the lot <64x64> and there's literally nothing on the lot, flattened it, just in case there was some terrain issue I might not have seen....back out, tried setting the lot to "allow visitors" tried a "future lounge" from ITF, tried a "vampire lounge" from Late Night, neither worked.  Tried various settings on the lot beyond those, large park, etc...still won't work.

Definitely appreciate the tips/info.

Hmm.. I am SO not sure what to say. I jumped in-game - loaded up Island Paradise, changed 77 Paradise Road to a community lot - Visitors allowed and was able to place whatever lots from Late Night. 

You mentioned that you just started this game, but maybe try a new game just in case just to test it out, if you haven't already.

See...stubborness and persistence really does pay off sometimes.

You have to bulldoze the lot once, which will change it to a community lot/no visitors allowed.  Then click on the lot icon, change it to the lot type you want....doesn't matter if it's a future lot, one from Late Night <like exclusive lounge>, whichever....THEN you can place the building from the other city.

One thing I did notice is that some of the Late Night buildings have the subway entrance merged with the building on the lot.  I'm about to go in and see if my game will crash....follow-up forthcoming.

aaaand....she <my sim> enters the exclusive club, auto-switches to her formal wear <like expected>, gets on the elevator, rides up to the club, bribes the doorwoman, and she's in...

YAY!

now...let's see what happens when she tries to use the subway....and the subway is greyed out because obviously I never tried to put in an opposite end to that system, or even know if it's possible at this point.
