Like system?

While the "thank you" and "loved it!" posts can be repetitious and annoying, especially in writing a story that can get really long, it is also a way to acknowledge the original poster.  Some times folks need that kind of encouragement, especially is English is not their first language.  For those of you who have English as an additional language, please don't worry so much about your grammar or spelling or whatever.  We're an international community of friends, and friends can often figure out what tense something is supposed to be or how to spell a word.  If someone, usually a mod or admin, says anything about your grammar or spelling, just pm them and let them know you are not normally English speaking and they will help out by correcting any mistakes in your posts if they catch them.  One of my best Sim friends spoke several Slavic languages fluently and English, not so much.  At times it was humorous but we always understood and loved her and still do.

I love the @ mentions especially when you're letting people know your appreciation for their comments on stories and when your discussing something with a specific person. It's a really neat tool.

If the 'like' system ever gets implemented, that would be awesome (for me anyway). Sometimes, I read stories but have nothing to say much, or I see houses that I like but have not a lot of words except to say I like it. Like Joria said, saying 'thank yous' and 'loved it' can get repetitious and to save myself from sounding like an automaton, I just save my replies and comments for when I'm very moved or super awed. But then again, clicking that 'like' button is more for convenience. I probably need to be more verbose anyway. And find out different ways of saying "I love it!"
