Sims 3 crashes when on travelling loading screen
« on: December 27, 2015, 12:03:38 AM »
I'm trying to send some of my sims to china, but when it's about halfway in loading it crashes. The game doesn't freeze or anything, it just shuts down very quickly and goes back to the desktop. There's no error message, like "the sims 3 has stopped working".
Even when I'm in edit town mode and try to edit one of the 3 countries, it crashes on the loading screen.
I've travelled a lot in my other saved game without problems, and once before with this saved game. So it has worked before, but suddenly stopped.

I've been on other forum posts and tried the solutions posted there, but to no avail.
I've tried cleaning my cache, which helped the game overall by running faster.
I've deleted the TravelDB.package in my saved game in my documents but that didn't help either.
I've also done the DEP thing for the sims 3 and expansions.

So I'm really stuck on this problem. Should I just uninstall and reinstall? I have a backup of my saved game so I don't mind, it just takes a lot of time.

I have all expansions and 2 stuff packs.
I run Windows 8.1 and I have 8 GB RAM.

Sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes, English is not my first language.

The saved game may be corrupt. So you may want to export the family and start a new game with them.

Use Save As before you send them traveling. Give the game a name of - for example SG-01  [This stands for Saved Game -01] That way if something happens, you have a saved game to go back to.

Traveling anywhere in Sims 3 is very buggy. We highly suggest to use Save as before traveling or going to University.

Hope this helps, :)
