Could someone please help me I have tried everything to remove University Life from my PC. I have manually uninstalled all of my expansion packs and base game. However when I try to uninstall UL from the control panel I get this message "An error (-5005: 0x80070002) has occured while running the setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications. If error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Electronic Arts."
The Icon for UL in the control panel is no longer a picture. It looks like a little card icon. I have tried to manually uninstall the game through my pc registry to remove it completely (which has worked for the rest of my expansions) but the "F4A88613-9197-44F5-9F7C-DF2ED3E4ABC7" folder is missing and there is no UL folder at all. I cannot install the game as it says it is installed and when I open the game launcher it says "There was an error during start up. Please see log for details" then shuts down.
I'm completely stumped. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

P.S I have made sure I have not set any of my folders to hidden view if this helps :)

Hi, ZoeBurns.

You will want to do a couple of things here:
  • Manually delete your Sims 3 University Life folder (default locations are C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games for the digital Origin version and C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts for the DVD version).
  • Run the Registry cleaner portion of CCleaner to make sure no Sims 3 stuff is left in the registry.
  • Still in CCleaner, go to the Tools section and find The Sims 3 University Life in the Uninstall list. Click that, then click the Delete button on the right-hand side to remove the uninstaller from the list.
That should clear out the niggling bits left behind from your previous attempts and allow the game to re-install.

Hope this helps and happy Simming! :)

HI there thank you for your reply to my post. I am trying to manually uninstall it through the folder in my program files but there isnt a university life folder there. Im not sure what to do. It is showing in my control panel that the University Life is installed but when I try to uninstall it I get an error message but I cant uninstall it manually as there is no folder within the Electronic Arts folder?
