"Find a profession" not working?

So I'm not sure what the source of this problem is, but clicking "Find a profession" (to join the Daycare career, for example) on the computer or newspaper simply doesn't work. My sim performs the action, but no window pops up. This has been happening in all of my save files, this is a new one. Of course I can use a mod to put her in the desired job, but it'd be great if any of you knew what this problem was. Never experienced it until recently. Any ideas are so appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Lilah,

If you haven't already, clear your game cache. You may also want to try a factory reset. Something else you could try is resetting the town or sim. Though I don't think reset town/sim will help much due to the problem being in all your saved games. You may have a better bet with clearing the cache and trying a factory reset.
