Increasing Bills
« on: October 02, 2015, 08:09:04 PM »
Hi, I've not played #4 for a little while. The one thing that really annoyed me the  most about it though was the ever increasing bills. I did d/l one mod that softened the blow a little bit and there was another one that limited the bills to $100. Just a curious question here, has EA ever corrected this issue or changed it in anyway? Are there other more recent or updated mods to alter it? Admins can go ahead and move this to the appropriate area you need. Thanks!

Bills get higher the more money/worth you are i think. There is an aspiration reward that you can buy that lowers it. (Think there is a recent post that examines it's effects on your bills) Someone with more knowledge than myself probably has a better answer..lol

Kamxam's totally correct, the more your household is worth the higher your bills will be. Items in your sims inventories will be included in the calculation too so you should sell more expensive items by Sunday night if you need to reduce the bills.

There is a thread here about how the Frugal Reward stacks across all sims in the household. Personally, I like the bills as usually my sims make so much money that it gets ridiculous and I can't find things for them to spend it on after a while.

Usually, that's true Playalot, but when you're first starting out, it can be tough.

Hmm *nods* some of those early career levels don't pay very much at all. Maybe your sims could breed frogs. If you get the whirly type from the ponds at the park they are worth 120 each and if you juggle them between your sims you can breed them again instantly as the 'breeding cool down' is related to the sims not the actual frogs. Or paint maybe? Or just use the mod you were talking about to reduce the bills lol.  :)

Hi again, I tried the mod and it doesn't work any longer. :(  What ep does the frugal award or trait come with? I don't have that. I only own base game, Outdoor Retreat, and Get to Work.

It's not actually a trait, it's a satisfaction points reward - I believe it cost 2000. You can find it when looking at your aspiration tab, and clicking on the icon that looks like a present, then scroll down until you see Frugal and click on it! Hope this helps  ;D

You can try the mod Realistic Bills. This is the one I use so I know it works.
