Do sim-created items, specifically paintings export with a lot? What about plants?

Yes they do save to the gallery. The rocket ship is glitched though and will only save as un-built. Paintings and other crafted items will most often not have the name of the sim who crafted them anymore but they will still all save. Plants save well, in exactly the same quality as the 'original'.
