Severe lag!
« on: September 21, 2015, 12:49:26 PM »
A few days ago my sims 3 game worked fine. I downloaded some custom content and then it went very laggy. Its painful to even play it. I go into buy mode and i cant chose objects because how slow it is. It takes ages for sims to complete tasks, and its so frustrating. My first though was the custom content so I ran my game without it, it made no difference, I emptied my DCbackup folder but nothing is working!!

Hi and welcome to the forum.  :)  Have you tried doing a factory reset?

Along with trying a factory reset, try deleting game cache files.

I hope you still have an old save just before putting the new custom content.

If so it is only half bad but don't play that clean save again with a broken game, reset before like advised up.

How much custom content did you download ? You might have installed too much CC. When you install new CC, install only a few items at once and play with them so you can check that the game is still fine. And for CC that modifies gameplay or new worlds, install new items one by one. If the game is still fine, install a few new items but always go slowly, never try installing 100 items at once for example. Install too much of it and your game will be unplayable. It's true for all computers, even the most recent ones can easily crash with a lot of CC.
