Can Only Teach Dog Sit and Sit Up?

As the title says, the only two options I have to train my beautiful new Husky is to sit and sit up.  Now I haven't played in a while and I'm wondering if I'm missing something; the "Teach Trick" interaction has disappeared.

Any light to shine on this?

I don't really play with pets in my households, but have you tried resetting the dog?

In Edit Town mode - Press Shift-Ctrl-C keys together to bring up cheat console.

For the whole town - resetsim *

For individual Sims - resetsim FirstName LastName

If the above doesn't work try evicting the family. This will send them to the clipboard. Then move them back in. This should hopefully fix the problem.
