Windows 10 RTM (Release to Manufacturer)
« on: July 23, 2015, 01:19:37 AM »
Just thought I would throw out a little fyi. Currently running full version of Windows 10 and origin and Sims 4 are all still doing what it should be doing. I know W10 goes live and is free on July 29th, so just in case anyone is wondering about compatibility issues. I haven't had any whatsoever. :-)  Sim on party people!

Great to hear. I was able to run Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, Sims 3 (all expansions/stuffs) and Sims 4 on Windows 10 10130. I didn't try the original Sims, but I would think with a little tweaking it should work as well. :)

This is good news, my IT guru has advised me to get it but I still need to play my sims!

Rather than create a new thread, I'm just wondering if anyone has upgraded to Windows 10 since it's release and if it's running Sims 4 and 3 fine? I've got an invitation to upgrade for free and am very tempted but don't want to if it's going to cause problems. Thanks

So far so good, while I don't have sims 3 at the moment to confirm, the Sims 4 do run flawlessly on Windows 10. The Sims 2 however did run poorly on my part but that is more because that game was poorly optimized on modern machine.

I'm also using Windows 10 to run The Sims 4, and haven't had any trouble with it.

Do you have a reliable source for this information or is it just something that is being spread around by anyone that will share it?

I don't believe this post or forum is about what risks are associated with a persons operating system to your personal information.  It only has to do with regards to the sims.  Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me personally.

No fear people!  You can opt out of these so called privacy issues as well. http://www.networkworld.com/article/2955710/microsoft-subnet/windows-10-installation-customize-settings-versus-express-settings.html.
People are always going to find pros and cons to all things. I personally like Windows 10 for The Sims. More so than 7 or 8. That's my personal opinion of course.

Yes it does have a lot of privacy issues it seems, but as has been pointed out, a bit of work and you can opt out of them. Really, information has been gathered for some time now in many programs and such. If you take the time to read policies, many say that information can be gathered on usage, which many would call a form of spying.
