Gray notifications etc.
« on: September 08, 2015, 04:00:08 PM »
Hi, all -

I'm playing the Sims 4 on our iMac and the last couple of sessions the notifications have been gray instead of blue, making them hard to read. Also, instead of the usual "saving" icon, we get a weird gray box with a shifting pattern inside. A few other icons seem to have been replaced by small gray boxes too, like the 'new' icon on items in build mode. Has anyone seen this? Any tips on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Doug

Hi Prog_frog,

I'm not a Mac user. But did a little searching to see if I could find some answers to the problem. Here's what I was able to find.

Make sure graphics drivers are up to date.
If it's enabled then Disable Laptop Mode - This option is under game options regardless if you have a laptop or desktop.

Doing this may require lowering the in-game graphics settings.

If the above doesn't work try repairing game if you haven't already. If all else fails reinstall the game.

Hope this helps, :)

Thanks, MrsFlynn. I appreciate your efforts. This isn't a laptop so I don't think there is any Laptop Mode, and I'm pretty sure all OS and graphics drivers are up to date, so I will try to do a repair.

Even tho it's not a laptop there is still a laptop mode setting. It probably isn't checked but it wouldn't hurt to check and make sure.
Go under Game options and Graphics. It's in the bottom right corner, atleast on a PC as shown below under lined in red.
