The most expensive trash can costs $1200 but if you dispose of trash/dishes manually with the hand tool you get $50 each time so it pays for itself in 24 uses.  If sims use the trash can, the still get $10 per use.  Definitely buy this early on.

You only get $10 per sim on your lot, so I'm assuming you have 5 sims in your household currently? I have play tested this many times and it remains the same.
