Social Events not receiving medal after completion

I'm just wondering has anyone had troubles with the social events.. At the moment, I can't complete the Black and White or the Incognito parties as the events have the padlock sign on them and I did try just doing the event anyway, the result was that I got the item that unlocks for getting gold but didn't get the medal.

I have tried several games and all have the same problem, I'd post on the official bug forum but it doesn't seem to like me, so does anyone know a work around or some way to fix it??

Hmm. I have the padlocks, too, and was wondering what that was all about. I don't have any suggestions, just wanted to let you know you're not the only one.

This may seem like an obvious question, but could you have the Black and White party before?  What I mean is, the Black and white was a party that only came with the deluxe edition.  Did you both get the deluxe base game?

Yes. Had the black and white before. In my case, the padlocks appeared after I had successfully achieved a gold medal in the black and white party in that file.

Hm, that is certainly odd... so if I understand it correctly, you can't even select the parties, or you just can't complete the objectives once you select them?

Until the latest update (the one with the dishwashers), I could do it but now I can't.

What happens is you do the event and say you get gold, it doesn't matter if you finish early or let it go through to the end of the event, you still get your reward for completing gold but you don't get a medal for it. Instead of the medal you see a padlock.

I have that problem too. Threw a gold Incognito party, received the reward for a gold party but when I went to throw a different type of party the next sim day I noticed that the Incognito party in the phone menu/party chooser did not a medal but a padlock! Haven't got a clue how to solve this.
