Author Topic: Parts of my house has become unavailable Fixed!! (Read 3191 times)

This is hard for me to explain properly, but there are suddenly parts of my kitchen where my sims are no longer able to go - like there's an invisible object in the way (which I can not move). I tried to remove the counter just to get my sims out of the kitchen, but they couldn't get out that way either, and now i can no longer put the counter down where it stood. Have anyone else experienced this? This is really really annoying. I had to painstakingly move every part of my kitchen just to get the household out of there!

*Solution*

Evict household. This will send them to the clipboard. Save house to library. Bulldoze the house, and replace the house from the library onto the same lot. Then take household from clipboard and place them into the house.

Are you using any mods or CC?

I'm going to go off of what Shewolf asked, are you using custom content and/or mods? If so, you may want to try loading the game without them.

Do you have any photos of your problem? That may help us figure out what's going on and help you better. If you do have photos, you'll want to upload them to some place like Photobucket and then share the links here in the thread.

*Edit* If it's a graphic like this:

You can delete it by using the cheat MoveObjects on.

How to use Sims 3 Cheats:
Press Ctrl+Shift+C at the same time to bring up the cheat console. Type in testingcheats true then hit enter. -- When done with the cheat, type in testingcheats false.

Thanks for suggestions, but there actually are no graphic or strange shapes at all. The problem is unfortunatly completley invisible. I'm not using any cheats or mods either (playing sims 3 university btw, just to specify) I also tried MoveObjects on and off, but it doesnt work :/

I did some more searching on this problem and was able to find a suggested fix = Save the house to library. Bulldoze the house and place it again.

Thanks a lot for your help MrsFlynn! This seems to work, and I hope so in the long run!

Only unfortunatly that I loose all my friends from out of the household. Is there any way around this, or should I just accept it (since this hopefully works) and change one unfortunate thing for another?

Ooh you shouldn't loose your household. What you can do is evict your household. This will send them to the clipboard.

With the house being without household in it. Save it to the library. Then bulldoze the lot, and replace the house from library onto the same lot.

Take your household from clipboard and place them into the house.
