Need help on building a super sim.
« on: March 02, 2020, 01:05:53 PM »
How do you build a super sim? I've seen Carl's video but do you have to build them in CAS or can you get one from trying for a baby? can you edit the baby?

Also I'm wanting to make a super sim with magic, sulani Mana, and father winters whimsy trait. How do I go about making this perfect sim?

OK I am going to give you step by step instructions on producing the perfect baby without cheats or mods. it is a 4 generation project without using a premade to boost the project.

1) Create a magic user with the Child of the Islands trait. It doesn't matter if they started life as a spellcaster or not. But they must have the Child of the Islands trait and must be a spellcaster before they parent the chosen descendant to build your super sim's family line.

2) Get one of the "ghost" elders of the island, summoned by the Child of the Islands trait, of the opposite sex of your caster to join your family and turn it human. Ambrosia is useful here. Have baby with this former ghost. This will net you Sulani Mana and a weak bloodline traits in your kid.

3) Have the chosen offspring with the Sulani Mana and a weak bloodline traits be a caster and have a daughter. This female sim will have Sulani Mana and a strong magical bloodline traits.

To be more likely to have a baby girl: Eat strawberries and listen to pop music on the radio.

4} Have the female, spellcaster sim with Sulani Mana and a strong magical bloodline traits have a child with Father Winter. DO NOT HAVE FATHER WINTER JOIN YOUR HOUSEHOLD. This will make him no longer Father Winter and your child will not have the Father Winter's Baby trait. The Child will have the following bonus traits: Sulani Mana, ancient magical bloodline and Father Winter's baby traits. The best combo to start a true super sim. Also there is a 50/50 on weather the child will be born a caster but that is super easy to fix once the sim is a teen.

Anyway that is how to get your start. I recently had a thread on making the perfect super sim. here is the link.

I wish you luck. If you need more help please ask. And yes once a toddler you can edit any sim. In fact given the forced genetics of the NPC's needed you super sim will likely be ugly if you don't.

As an aside, Darrel and Gemma Charm both start with a strong magical bloodline. So if either of them have a child with a Sulani Elemental, you'll already have ancient bloodline and Sulani Mana. Make sure it's a girl. Then age her up, and she has a child with Father Winter. Done. You have a sim born with ancient bloodline, sulani mana, father winter's baby to raise as a SuperSim.

In this scenario all your starting sim needs is Child of the Islands to be able to call the elementals. What I've outlined is fastest, but the starting sim will be unrelated to the SuperSim. And... the Charms have some interesting facial features. So if things go badly, cas.fulleditmode is your friend.
It is a little thing of my own. I call it "Heart Foam". I shall not publish it. Farewell! Patience, Patience, farewell!

Exit Bunthorne.

@mousef and scoed
I am currently doing a casual playthrough where I am using MCCC.
I have a question for you two about the Father Winter's Child trait, provided that you also play with MCCC. (I know you do, mousef)

Years ago, if one had MCCC installed, it wasn't possible for a sim have a toddler with the Father Winter's Child trait, even after having Father Winter's baby.
The trait just wouldn't appear.
Question: Has this been "fixed" or is it still happening?

I realize I could play-test this myself but I thought it'd be faster to seek the superior wisdom of those already in the know. :)

P.S. When I googled this last night, I discovered your very first thread in this forum, mousef: How to have an alien with the Father Winter's Child trait.  Haha, good times!

Hey @oshizu , that MCCC bug has long since been fixed ;)
However it's worth mentioning another bug which, while it doesn't seem to be caused by MCCC (as there are console players experiencing it), is perhaps made worse by it: multiple Agathas and Agneses Crumplebottom. The horror!
This is the thread for it: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-CoL-Multiple-versions-of-Agatha-and-Agnes-Crumplebottom/td-p/10539669/highlight/true
It's quite bad in my game, probably due to strict MCCC population settings plus some other mods to prevent random townies. So if you're playing on HoB, keep an eye on those gals.

@mousf

Thanks so very much for letting me know I can go ahead with my devious plans.  *rubs palms with not-that-evil glee
I have read about the multiple Crumplebottoms glitch, but it has yet to happen to me.
My save is very focused on two one-sim households at the moment, so I'm not letting MCCC go hogwild with the rest of the simverse. :)

Hey, just want to point out that spellcasters don't need no stinkin' Ambrosia!  Just learn all your spells, and eventually you'll get De-Deathify.  Cast that on a ghost, and they become alive again.  Which also means, the Island Elemental doesn't necessarily have to become a household member- but it might be a pain trying to locate them again, if the first attempt at a baby didn't succeed.
Also, I believe it's possible to be granted Sulani Mana, although I haven't tried this.  If you have Child of the Islands, and you've been a really good Child of the Islands and done the stuff that makes the Island Elementals happy, you can be granted Sulani Mana when you ask them to judge you.
And also, I've found that children of spellcasters are sometimes randomly given "goofy" features.  Like, the Charm kids.  I had a sim crank out 10 kids, and the first two needed major fixes in CAS-- but the rest looked fine.
