Vanarra Cassa, a WonderKid [COMPLETED]
« on: May 15, 2016, 03:45:18 PM »
I'm not really doing a story, just showing off outfits and recounting skill accomplishments and strategy. I wanted to give the skilling the most attention possible, and save the fun story parts for flashbacks in my AC.

So, without further ado, I give you the Parents, Mandela and Diego Cassa. (They are adults, I just have a fancy CC skin detail for both of them that covers up all of it but the eyes)

They promptly set off on the soulmate aspiration, and after they got about halfway mon night, we went to the gyms and found them some trainers, Marcus Flex, and a randomly generated sim named Tara Priestley. We added them to the WonderKid club after finishing the first level of the Bodybuilder aspiration for both of them, we went home and set up treadmills to grind the Fitness skill, with each parent working with their own mentor. At the last level, I swapped the second treadmill for a weight machine, and it was only a couple workouts until that was done (Tues night and Wed morning)

I want to start with a female Oracle, mostly for importing a WonderSpouse to maximize the skill options of gen2, and a little bit for story. This means the mentorable skills that the parents need to learn is small: Logic, Handiness, Fitness, and after reading some of @oshizu's WCC do's, don'ts, and regrets, I'm going to try adding Writing to that list. With 5 days to teen for my WonderKid, I hope a parent will have time to max that before she's done with her primary career skills.

Diego went straight to the chess table, and Mandela to the woodworking table. After reading some of the Piaget WCC, I decided that in my replay that it would be worth giving Sleep Replacements to my parents, as their low amount of required mentorable skills would give them lots of time to acquire enough aspiration points to keep the WonderKid supplied.

Friday morning, Diego had maxed logic, and Mandela was about half a skill point away. I had them TFB in the bush, and immediately take the pregnancy test for certainty. This time around, I completely forgot the strawberries. In my first go, the mother lived entirely on strawberries for the duration of her pregnancy (I do a lot of fruit substitution in my games). Luckily, I had fraternal twins! Vanarra, our WonderKid, and her brother, Antonin! Having twins makes my health potion strategy so much easier.

As soon as I could, I aged them both up (advancing aging is allowed, slowing aging is not), and set them on their aspirations.

See you next time with kid pictures!

Super exciting to see another WC on the forum. Welcome to the club! The parents look gorgeous, and I'm excited to see how Vanarra turns out.

Here's some kid photos, as promised!

Vanarra went straight to work as a Rambunctious Scamp, while Antonin worked on the Artistic Prodigy aspiration. Then, they switched. Whiz Kid and Social Butterfly took the longest because all the children were aging up as Vanarra tried to befriend them. She finished Whiz Kid with the A in school at 5 days to teen. Social Butterfly was almost done, and she spent one extra day at school Making Friends hoping a child sim would show up. After school on Tues we found one just wandering by the lot. Then Vanarra worked on Charisma and Mischief, as she had maxed Logic over the weekend.

Antonin completed all aspirations but Social Butterfly (I dislike it the most, it requires so much attention)

A couple days before the children aged up, I built them a house. I forgot the unaccessible basement (and the second story gym) where I was stockpiling potions when I put it all in my inventory. I lost about 20 Sleep Replacement potions and 50 health potions. Eh, lots of food will be made when Vanarra does the Master Chef aspiration, and I had Vanarra and Antonin spend about one sim day making as many health potions as I could. I spent some aspiration points that had been stocked up, and replaced most of the sleep replacement potions, and bought Vanarra Never Weary with her 5,200 childhood aspiration points.

Vanarra's Accomplishments (as of Teen Birthday)

Skills:
Physical - 10
Creative - 10
Mental - 10
Social - 10
Charisma - 10
Logic - 10
Mischief - 6

Aspirations:
Rambunctious Scamp
Artistic Prodigy
Whiz Kid
Social Butterfly

The children are stunning and I adore Antonin's more intense green eyes.
Which lot did you choose for your family?

Oh no, did you bulldoze your original place before building the house? Is that how you lost your stockpile? :-(
And yeah, I'm not a fan of Social Butterfly either. But Charisma's such a useful skill later on...

I don't know if you have the Get Together EP, but Pinstar okay'ed the use of clubs for the Wonder Child Challenge (but not for the Apocalypse Challenge).
With a family club's Rally the Troops, one really doesn't need sleep replacement potions...

Go, Vanarra! She's doing really great!

@oshizu I usually queue up so many actions that having a sim break off to use the Rally interaction breaks my flow. Eventually I will learn how to use it!

Yeah, it was from bulldozing. I was inserting a house I'd previously built that fit on the lot, and whoops. I'm on the comfy cubby in Newcrest.

Vanarra's role in the Apocalypse Challenge really requires that Social skill boost, and with the list of traits I'm hoping to buy, I need all the points I can get!

Gorgeous Sims and I love the way you are reserving the WC story for flashbacks!  That's going to be lots of fun.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Vanarra ended up even more gorgeous than her parents!
Lately, I've been thinking I should choose everyday outfits as sleepwear for my sims, because they wear sleepwear the most, lol.

A couple levels of Fishing won't hurt, especially since that's all there is to eat at first. Eating wild plants takes a long time to fill the hunger meter.

Vanarra has level 3 or 4 fishing from a short attempt to fish up a cowberry. I'm trying to get a couple reward traits from adult-only aspirations like renaissance sim and soulmate before I send her to Dystopia / start my other WonderKid challenge.

It's a shame they didn't change into their fabulous clothes but I will once again say how stunning they look.

Hopefully when I go back into my files for storycrafting, we might get to see them utilize those wardrobes.

I was cleaning out my screenshots folder, when I came across these: Deigo Cassa and Pheobe Maxwell, parents of my first try. I didn't spend as much time on these guys, and it showed when Vanarra I became a teen. (I deleted her photo before I had the idea to share them)
