Discount Diner- great for medical career sims

This lifetime reward is great for sims working in the medical career- go straight from work to the diner taking anyone standing around outside in with you for a free meal- or do your dining and socialising before work.  Very convenient.

But if you own the store, that reward is completely useless.

With the latest patch, you can eat for free in the diner or bistro if you own them, so save your 5000 LTRP and buy them instead and make some cash!

And my only problem with the Discount Diner reward — and I think Carl mentions this on the Guide — is the time that it eats up. Just having your Sim go straight home and eating a meal wastes far less time. I can't remember the last time I've gone for a 5k point Reward. I'm typically saving up for something better.

Exactly! Be honest now, who can survive without one teleporter per vacation home?

It's all relative.  Sure, you can buy the restaurant and eat free, but it takes a chunk of cash to do that.  5000 happiness points are easy to get early on.  And eating at home is quicker, but you don't get the socialization from eating with someone.  And for the teleporter, if you really can't live without one in every vacation home, you can use the testing cheat for free if you're not trying to play an exactly perfect game.

And it also depends on how you play the game.

The guy I'm playing now (the mummy) started out as an hobo wandering from neighbour to neighbour mooching, and if he could get a free meal, he would have been on top of the world.
