Sims 3 Console Pre-Order Sales Break Record

For the most part, Console players will fit in just fine one the Sims 3 general discussion board, since most all PC "vanilla" (without expansions) features made it to the consoles. I'm starting a page linking guides for the console. I know there are lots of tiny changes, like names of plants and other things here and there, but aside from the interface it looks like the versions aren't too different. I want to get a guide about Karma together soon...

I never played sims 3 on pc nor have I played the sims series.  The karma there really isn't much to add...the more you use it the more bad things will happen for example meteor shower in the middle of the night. Could anyone confirm?

I read it does the opposite at midnight. If you've used lots of good karma actions, bad stuff might happen to your Sims. I guess that encourages bad Sims to run about setting fire to neighboring lots, so at night something nice might happen for the family.

I did happen to see a review on the Wii version of the sims.  I did hear them say that if you play the sims on PC, you might be disappointed with the Wii version.  There is alot of loading time for each option and there is only one neighborhood, also there seems to be some lag in the game.  Of course the good features are, weather, wind surfing and a couple of other things I can't think of right now.  I am having so much fun with LN, I am still torn on whether or not I will get it.  Still thinking.

What's LN? ye than that explains it.  I have used at least 2 good karma and bad things have been happening to me. i.e. meteor shower at night and house gets on fire.  I don't know what would happen if you do it the other way around using bad karma and getting something good in return.

LN is for Late Night, the new expansion that just came out for the PC.  We will, at some point have a thread for the console version of Sims3 and a few of us will probably purchase it.  Right now, I do not believe anyone on the forum has the console version yet.  I could be wrong.

 Read what carl and I have been talking about >.>....ye I got it a day after it came out.  Anyways back to the consoles. I don't think we will get the same expansions as PCers  If you guys go on youtube and go on sims youtube channel, there was a Q&A, they are thinking of other approaches that are more fitting for console users, which kind of sucks because I kind of like the celebrity theme/paparazzi expansion.  Anyways hope they come up with something ingenious.

What do you mean by that? Like the swim wear, casual wear etc? At the beginning of character creation?

If it's like the PC version, you can only do one outfit per category at the beginning in Create A Sim.  Once in the game, you can use a dresser to Plan Outfit to add the other two.

Yeah, it's like the PC verision, but I don't see how to do the other 2 outfits. It says you can have 3 with the dresser, but can't figure it out. I like the ps3 version it is fun and you can have a lot of games going. I am glad I found this forum. Is there going to be a guide for the ps3?

I don't believe Carl plans to have a specific guide for the PS3.  He recently posted a general article about it.  Click here to view.

I have the x-box version of the Sims 3 I found it difficult to get used to the controls. I have played the PC version for so long I control the game almost without thinking.
The game play is exactly the same as the PC version it just seems to take longer to do things. Once I get used to the new town and new characters I am sure I will enjoy it.
I am thinking of getting the Wii version too for my daughter but I think it may annoy me with all the pointing a clicking with the Wii remote.
If anybody needs any information about the X-Box version of the Sims 3 then I would be happy to attempt to find out.
