How to move scrap in bulk?

I have a simbot in my household, and he doesn't seem to realize that the scrap is in the workbench, so I want to put some scrap in his inventory.. However, I have around 1,000 scrap.

Is there a way to take, say, 50 scrap and put it in his inventory without dragging the whole thing?

Have the simbot go to the bench and buy 50 scrap, or else take him to the junkyard to dig for scrap.

I don't know of a way to move sections of a bulk stack in inventory in one go.

What I do, instead of dragging each piece of the 50 you want from one Sim to the other, is I make a second stack in the same Sim's inventory and then move that smaller stack (50 in your example) into the second Sim's inventory. To me it seems faster than dragging 50 individual pieces over.

If anyone has a better method I would love to hear about it.

Unfortunately, you can move either one piece at a time or the whole stack.  In addition to getting scrap at the junkyard, you can also dig through garbage to find it.
