Pictures Disappearing and Error 16

Hi, I'm having an awful time here. Many times when I take a painted picture out of my sim's inventory, it will totally disappear the moment I let up on the mouse button. Does anybody else have this problem? Also, when saving my game just now, I got the error code 16. I've not had that in years! I know that EA has done some tweaks to the game so I don't know if they broke something or not. I had to close it out without saving.    I just got a newer video card, but the first time I started the game up with it, it said that the card was not supported! The graphics are fuzzy sometimes too. Just wondering if the card could cause the error 16.

Hi Sonshine,

It looks like Error 16 means that you need to use Save As with a new or similar name.

That problem doesn't appear to be video card related. Here's something that may help with your video card problem though.

After you get the computer to recognize your computer, you'll want to play with the settings abit to get it to your liking. And also may want to make note of those settings for if/when you need them later.

As for taking the paintings off the wall, putting them into Sim's inventory and then trying to take them out and hanging them back up and they come out blank or disappear. I've had that happen before, but not sure of a way to fix it.

Sometimes Error 16 is caused by using "delete object" on a sim. Have you done that at any point?

Hi Mrs Flynn and Lisa! I haven't taken the paintings off of the wall at all. I put the painting into his inventory from the easel by clicking on "take painting." When I try to remove it from his inventory to put it on the wall is when it is disappearing.

Lisa, I have not deleted anything from a sim at all unless the disappearing pictures qualifies.

Edit: I tried to follow the instructions for the Nvidia video card, but only got to step 5/2. I do not have "High-Performance Nvidia Processor" in the list. It kind of looks like he used Win XP and I have Win 7 so it's slightly different. Mine totally skips 5/2 and goes directly to 5/3 "Specify the settings for this program." I have no idea what to do now.

The thing with paintings in the inventory is a known bug. I always dragged paintings from the easel to the wall/used buy mode to hang them on a wall immediately because nothing would survive the inventory.
