Reading this topic got me thinking - if I put new Late Night buildings in my Sunset Valley will all of them be accessible? When I put them they're sometimes situated a few meters away from the road or on elevated ground :/ If I build a new bar/disco or such do I have to set which people will be allowed in or is it set automatically? I hope all is automatic becuase if not I'm moving to Bridgeport with my buddy mummy (cool guy, a master sculptor, who sculpts all day and night ;)).
I might be wrong but does Bridgeport require a bit more from my PC than Sunset? It tends to lag a bit when I'm moving around town from the bird's view. It's an issue for me since I've only got 1,5 GB RAM.

I put all the new clubs/discos and such in Sunset Valley. I went here and there to check what's up. It turned out I was the only one in the bar/disco, except the staff. What's up with that? Where are all the people at? Should I move to Bridgeport in order to have bars full of people?

Nah, the bars with no people in them is a pretty common issue.  Lots of talk about it on the other forums.  I don't know if it's an actual bug, or just a poorly planned feature.

Reading the newspaper will show you where the "hotspots" are each night.  Usually the hotspots have a few more people in them.

According to the Prima Guide there are certain days and times when the places are 'rocking'.  I had my Sim go at these times and there were more than the 1 or 2 'customers' that normally showed up.

   * Dive Bars are busiest at 2pm for the lunch crowd on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Maximun guests are 8.

   * Dance Clubs are busiest on Saturdays at midnight.  Maximun guests are 14.

   * Lounges are busiest at 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.  Maximun guests are 10.

I tried this at both Bridgeport and Twinbrook.  I didn't try SV or RV as I haven't played those towns in awhile.  Hope this helps.  ;)

And what results did you see?  I tried going to the dive bar around 2 pm on a Tuesday, and it did give me a different message ("Holy cow this place is hot!").   Unfortunately, there were still only two people in it. ;)

@Glic2000 - Try going to the Dive Bar at 2 pm on a Wednesday or Thursday.  You should see more 'customers' compared to going on a Tuesday.   :)
I have also noticed it might take a Sim week or two for the game to generate celebrities and vampires.  The longer I play the more I see.

What happens with celebrities and vampires in other towns, if you don't place vampire clubs or other bars? What kind of venue do you need to place for band gigs?

The vampires and celebrities started turning up in my Dynasty game the first time I played it after installing LN.  There were no clubs or bars at that point.  My sims encountered the celebs and vamps in Central Park.

The only gig Clan has been offered was at one of the new pre-made venues I brought in.  I think it was called Waylon's?  Something like that.
