Granite Falls Rangers are now neighbours?!

Very confused - the Rangers used to be randomly generated characters, with a love the outdoors trait and good gardening and fishing skills. I've updated my game with Go to work and suddenly the Rangers are people like Eric Lewis and Eliza Pancakes? There used to be two park rangers, and so far I have only spotted one. I miss the random generated ones!
