The sims 3 has stopped working? (Resolved)

My Dynasty file is on about week four and I've just got the second generation aged to toddler, but every so often It'll just randomly crash and I'll get an error message saying the sims 3 has stopped working correctly the program will now close. And then it closes and I have to restart from my last save, I've spent all day going through this and I haven't even been able to play through a full simday. I've checked in the saves folder and the file does not have the .bad thing on it so it isn't the file. I can't figure out whats wrong with it for the life of me? Is there any kind of fix for this?

This problem has a lot of different reasons why it happens. It could be as easy as clearing your cache files, or trying a factory reset.

When this has happened to me, I usually just back up my Sims 3 folder, and do a factory reset. Start a new game to test to make sure things run smoothly, and if so, copy my saves and other files and folders over.

Clearing the caches seems to have fixed it thank you
