What happened to oppurtunites?

So I am at a loss.  I have played a few different games for several game weeks, worked on skills, sent sims to their jobs, and yet in none of my games have any opportunities appeared.  Does anyone know what is up, and how to fix this?  I had read something about ITF suppressing opportunities, but getting none at all?

Have you accidentally checked suppress opportunities in options?

As far as I know ITF suppresses skill opportunities, it shouldn't suppress career or special opportunities.

Well in my current game no career ops because my sim is self employed as a painter in sunset valley.  But yeah, also no special opportunities either.  I'll have to double check on if I have the Suppress Opportunities box checked, but I don't think I do.
