The Dynasty Family - A Bunch of Hopefuls
« on: June 17, 2015, 12:36:50 AM »
Watcher's Note: I'm off on holidays at the end of this week. So that I'm not too bored in Adelaide, I'm starting the following, as well as going on with my other dynasties. Yep, I'm a sucker for punishment. LOL

@ratchie in her sims 4 immortal dynasty made me feel sad for the Bunch family and I decided that I had to include them in one! So, here goes nothing.

Expansions loaded - Supernatural, Generations, Ambitions, Late Night, University Life, Into the Future, World Adventures
Stuff Packs loaded - High End Loft Stuff
Store items downloaded and installed - Riverview; Bohemium Fruits/Nuts; Free store sets
Settings - All Supernaturals (except for witches) turned off; Celebrities turned on; Moon set to single phase (last quarter, I believe).
Post 2 will have the stats, following this is the table of contents and my prologue

I am going for hall of fame at this stage, that may change in the future. If you read through the rest of this post, you may realise who spouses for the first six generations are going to be :D

Prologue – A Bunch of Hopefuls

Judy Bunch was sad. Once again her family had been overlooked for a dynasty. Looks aren’t everything, and it made her sad that so many watchers considered looks as the most important thing when considering a spouse. Judy was a Scientist and it was at work one day that she hatched a plan; namely to catch a watcher to include herself, Jack and the kids in a dynasty. She just had to make sure they were skilled in things that a potential founder would want. While she loved the idea of being a scientist, she loved the idea of being a mother and a sculptor more and she looked into opportunities for that, taking free introductory classes in sculpting. She also hoped that before she became elder she'd have a chance to meet her life time wish - raising 5 children from nooboos to teens.
Jack, she knew, had wanted to be an athlete for a long time, but his job at level 8 in the military was too good to pass up. Besides, he had a green thumb and also liked to cook. Two thirds of the way to ambrosia just from him alone, how could a watcher pass him up, and besides, he looked good as a squadron leader, even if Judy said so herself, and she did say so, several times a day to anyone and everyone who listened (or before they ran away from her, if truth be told). In addition, he rather enjoyed playing around with a camera.
Ethan had quite a good head on his shoulders for books, and was also enjoying the sciences at school. With a bit of practice, he could perform science experiments and permit the Bunches to be cloned to be spouses, both now and into the future. The Bunch line would continue, even if people didn’t realise it and thought it was the dynasty family that was being continued. Besides, Ethan was good friends with Holly Alto, and Judy wondered if that may lead into something more for them. Holly was good at art, but sadly was unlikely to join their household.
Lisa was popular at school, particularly with VJ Alvi. Another potential match there, but Judy was interested more in what she could bring to the dynasty, and then she realised – alchemy. As well as clones of their family to act as spouses, the immortals to be would need potions to make friends, skill quickly, improve wish rewards, refuse to sleep and more, much more.
Arlo was on the move all the time, and on more than one occasion he was found down by the nearby fishing spots, looking at the fish and talking to Claire Ursine. Fishing would be his focus. And if he fished well enough, he might just land himself a girlfriend; Bella Bachelor sprang to Judy's mind.
Finally, Darlene would paint. Judy knew that someone would have to paint the Founder, and Darlene, as the youngest, would be given that responsibility. She mightn't like it, but it would ensure she got the attention she so desperately craved.

All that remained was to land a potential founder. She wrote an ad and placed it in the local rag, The Sunset Valley Cryer. “Wanted, A Founder: Let us Cook, Garden, Fish, Paint, Sculpt, Photograph, mix potions and perform science for you. We will do all that so you can focus on your duties. All we ask is for the chance to be part of your dynasty. Apply to: Peep’s Peak, 16 Maywood Lane. Just take a taxi here, we’ll be glad to help you.”

She sat back and waited ... and waited ... and waited some more, until one day when she and Jack had almost reached elderhood when one Sunday with the family gathered out in the front yard, a new game had begun and Judy hoped that a victim founder had chosen them.

Yay, a Bunch of clones! This could be so amazing. It might take a lot of work for Gen 7 to bring more Bunch-i-ness into the family but that is a challenge worth pursuing. I wish the Bunches (and their founder, of course) luck!

I love the Bunch family especially after last year's a Bunch of Jobs challenge.  They have strong personalities so this should be fun.

Cool idea, Deklitch! I like when people choose different sims for their founders/spouses other than Agnes, Chris and the like. Looking forward to this one  ;)

Enter the Victim Founder

A yellow taxi pulled up outside Peep's Peak, and while Jack and the kids headed off to do other things, Judy stayed outside. To say the visitor was unusual, would be akin to saying that Agnes has a bit of money, Judy thought.

They talked, the visitor said his name was Andrew Dynasty and he was sent here on a mission. He read the advertisement in the paper, and he came to get the help offered. Judy could tell he was friendly, and probably a bit excitable and eccentric, based on the way he spoke about becoming a descendant of da vinci. He spoke about his favourite items of art, and how he loved to sculpt and they became friends. Judy knew he was the one when he offered to buy her lunch down at the bistro in town. Outside the bistro, Tamara Donner was giving luncheon advice and suggested healthy eating involved steak and three vegetables.

As Tamara spoke (loudly enough for Judy to hear) Judy was getting the agreement of Andrew. Yes, he would take on the Bunch family in his dynasty, and yes, he would permit Judy to have a fifth child to achieve her LTW. And in return they would do all those things Judy promised in the advertisement they would do. It was all signed, sealed and delivered and founder, Andrew's fate was sealed.

So, Andrew and Judy went to the Dynasty Family's block of land and were quickly joined by Jack, Ethan, Lisa, Arlo and Darlene. The motor vehicle was sold, and a couple of small yards were fenced off for master 'bedroom' and 'bathroom/toilet' and sleeping bags were laid out for Andrew and the kids.

The Bunch family and their captive, Andrew began their process of

Sculpting

Painting

Gardening

Fishing

Alchemy

and Scientific Research that Sunday.

Before they all gathered around the two small tables for quick snacks for dinner.

The next day was work for Jack, school for the kids and sculpting/painting for Judy and Andrew.

Jack had nothing to worry about with Judy and Andrew spending such a large bunch of together, did he?

Thanks for your comments, dontmindme, KRae and Malley.

I've always said that the Bunches are my favourite Sunset Valley family, so I thought it was about time I backed up my words with actions by using them. :D

Very unique looking founder! I can't wait to see how his genetics will play out in the dynasty.

A Bunch of Birthdays

In a household with 7 members it stands to reason that in the first three weeks there'll be several birthdays. And such it was in the Dynasty house.

First birthday, as previously mentioned, was Arlo becoming a teen.

Next Jack and Judy gave birth to Anne other Bunch of joy.Yes, their fifth child was born on Thursday, week 1 and she was both happy and artistic.

On the same day as Anne's birth, Ethan, Lisa and Arlo had prom. Ethan and Lisa had dates (Holly and VJ respectively), while Arlo went alone. Ethan and Lisa were both asked to go steady on prom night and Ethan (and apparently Holly) were voted prom king and queen respectively. Arlo didn't have such a good night, however. He got in a fight, and he thought that Ethan was a joke on the dance floor.

On Sunday, week 1, Anne and older sister Darlene had birthdays, with Darlene picking up artistic and Lisa's inappropriate trait dictating that she laugh. Lisa was put on potty training duty as a consequence and then continued on to teach Anne how to walk.

Andrew was responsible for teaching the newest Bunch to talk. While that happened, Judy continued to sculpt and Jack and the kids worked in the garden.

On Thursday week 2, Ethan, Jack and Julie had birthdays, Ethan becoming a young adult and his parents becoming elders. Ethan's final trait was family orientated and he invited Holly over for some alone time ... chimes were heard and then the new mother and father went out for dinner and a show.

As most of his housemates were becoming older, Andrew continued to sculpt his way towards level 10 of his self employed sculpting career and received his share of the inheritance following a long since forgotten family member's death.

A Bunch of Happenings
It is currently Friday in game, week 3, I believe and I have an update. Pictures to be added (for both this and previous post). I've just realised my site doesn't have my latest screenshots uploaded to it yet, so will have to do it when I get home.

Arlo
It happened one Wednesday! Arlo was ready to be aged into a Young Adult. He had his birthday at just after midnight.

Then he jumped into the family motive mobile without eating cake and headed to the graveyard. He never had a driving lesson, but as a YA, he could drive perfectly! He caught deathfish at the graveyard pond, and was almost as scared of the ghosts as they were of him.

He loved being an uncle so much he wanted a bunch of kids of his own! Like big brother Ethan, he picked up a fertility treatment. Arlo went around to the Bachelor house to see his primary and high school friend, Bella.  She was still in high school, so Arlo threw a football with her and listened to her talk about boy bands and Mortimer.

Arlo hoped she would age up quickly, he wanted to be a daddy!

Ethan
Ethan and Holly had twins - a boy (Jan) and a girl (Eve). The children are toddlers in the game at the moment.

Ethan has seen them, and spent time teaching them to talk and walk.

At home, Ethan has started taking scientific samples of his family members, especially his parents, as they are both elders now. He received a strange scientific device in the mail (amazing how such big things fit in such a small package!) and he has yet to play with it yet.

Ethan and Holly hope to have more children.

Lisa
Lisa and VJ love to laugh at birthday parties, they also love each other, being boyfriend and girlfriend.

Lisa's still learning alchemy and making friendship potions. I prefer the more powerful potent friendship potions, but I find it annoying to get the beeswax, so I make do with friendship potions instead. Lisa, Ethan, Arlo, Judy and Jack all spend time in the garden. Andrew is being locked out of the gardening area, as I'm keeping that option open for down the track if I need it.

Darlene
Is currently being my second (and last) non immortal sculptor, and third and last sculptor for the family. Judy is unlikely to survive until Andrew's an elder, Darlene has already got the painting requirements for Andrew covered, and she is now sculpting in ice. Like her mother, Darlene loves tasting the ice with her tongue. Unlike her mother, Darlene is going to become a savvy sculptor as her last trait.

Darlene becomes a YA on Sunday in game, and she has her eyes on one of her fellow school students. As with Lisa and VJ, Darlene and a potential partner will have to wait for Jack/Judy to die before being able to have children.

She brought home a friend from school, it was the Ursine girl (I think in this game, her name is either Roxanne or Tamara). I've got a screenshot of her.

Anne
It seems it was just the other day when Anne was brought home and now she's 3 days from being in high school, and 17 days from her future being laid out for her.

Unlike her brothers and sisters, she doesn't have blond hair, but rather a hair colour similar to that of her parents. She has found school to be rather easy so far, and despite having a day off for her siblings' graduation from highschool on Monday is currently on an A.

Jack
Jack reached level 10 of the military career on the previous Friday, on Monday he had the day off for Ethan and Lisa graduating and on Tuesday his wish to retire was granted to him. His ltw was changed to reach top of military career and provided the family with motive mobile from lthps. So, he never got to go into space, poor Jack. Instead, he worked on his cooking skill and spent time in the garden. Someone has to prepare the ambrosia, and he had the highest cooking skill in the family, life fruit has been grown and death fish caught.

Judy
Judy is 3 days away from her LTW being completed, and has a wish enhancing potion ready to consume. Judy gardens like a mad woman and sculpts like a sim possessed. Judy can now sculpt for free, and despite not being a savvy sculptor, she does a (mostly) good job. At least now she won't be spending 500 simeloens in an attempt to make a stone sculpture, and crack it to get a gem worth 25 simeloens or so.

Andrew
Andrew completed his skill of sculpting and his career as self employed sculptor and I put him into home design for some reason.

On his second day on the job, Andrew picked up two jobs, a powder room for the Bachelors and an exterior makeover for the Goths. To say the powder room wasn't well received by Simis would be putting it mildly. The Goths liked his reworking of their exterior doors and windows, however. Andrew is working hard at the drafting table to raise both his painting skill (ltw) and career performance. It also turns out that Mr Goth is a celebrity, and that has rubbed off onto Andrew a bit, so he might be able to pick up celebrity ops.

Yay, Bunches! So is Andrew going to wait until most of the Bunches are gone to have kids? That could be really sweet of him, letting Lisa and another girl have a child. I can't believe how much the family has accomplished in such a short time. Good luck to them all!

Wonderful! The Bunches are so underused so it's great to see the whole "Bunch" (ahem) in action in a dynasty.  :)
