My Sims keep getting stuck!

So for some random reason all of a sudden my sims have been getting stuck and I have to keep resetting them. I've made sure I have updated all my mods and stuff like that so I have NO idea why it keeps doing this! I also removed the most recent downloads thinking that it might alleviate the problem, but it just got worse. I'm to the point where I want to trash the family and start from scratch, but the only thing that's stopping me is the fact I'm married to Matthew Hamming, have two cute boys, and I have tons of money.
I just got done playing and I think within 15 minutes I had to reset all 4 sims twice or more.  At one point, the mother was playing the piano and suddenly froze, then I reset her again and she disappeared even though her icon shows her she is somewhere underneath the house. Two of my sims were also in bed and they both got stuck twice before the night was over. Both had the moodlet that usually happens when its dark and you failed to give them lighting, and the little boy had the "swimming" task instead of "sleeping" task even though he was in bed (I'm not sure that made sense but I don't know how else to describe it).
And If it helps anyone, I play the Sims on a regular white macbook.

I've had this happen, but restarting the game fixed it for me.  I think it's probably a new bug that EA will have to address.

Hmm, weird I wonder what triggers it because it was fine up until a few days ago. Anyways thanks for your advice

That.. doesn't sound like a healthy neighborhood.
If it wasn't triggered by any new custom content or patch, it could be neighborhood decay.. that, or your lot may be glitched. Try making a backup of your save and moving your family to another lot, see if it helps.

Okay I am going to try that. Because I just tried playing them again after using Pam's advice and they are still stuck.
