Windows 8.1 Screen Resolution Problem

Hi!
Since i updated my computer to windows 8.1 the resolution in my game has been all weird, and nothing i've done so far has fixed it so i'm realllyyyy hoping someone here could help me without me having to re-install my games (a lot of the discs to the older expansions are gone). i've tried going into the games menu and i've tried every screen resolution there is on there, i've also tried personalizing my desktop and changing the resolution to 125% instead of the default which worked for some people, but didn't change anything for me.

Hi Chiriah,

If it's not to much trouble, can you give us more details on what the problem is with your resolution? Is it that the text is to small? Or is the video card not being recognized/not found by your system?

Anymore details would be very helpful in us helping you figure out how to fix the problem.

Also, if you ever find you need to reinstall Sims 3. You can register Sims 3 and it's expansions and stuff packs at http://thesims3.com. If you haven't already and download from there.

Hi! Thanks for your answers!
The problem i'm having is that the screen in-game is like a square, it doesn't fill up the whole screen as it used to do, so i figured it must be something thats wrong with the resolution in the game. I'm sorry i'm not that good with computers, so i dont really know how to explain it any further

Hi Chiriah,

Try updating your graphics driver again? From what I've been able to tell, sometimes when updating from Windows 7 to 8 the graphics get messed up and need to be updated again.

What we like to do is go to the graphics card manufacturer's site, search for our card and download the drivers from there and install.

If you're unsure of who the manufacturer is. Best way of getting that information is to look at your system specs.
