Hi, and welcome to the forum. :)

The computer may run The Sims 4 on at least low settings, but I'm not certain how well it will perform. The reason I say that is because it is using a processor designed for a low-end laptop - which may not have enough power to drive the game. While the graphics chip does seem to have the power to run the game on medium settings, the lack of processor power holds the system performance back. Also, the system has only 4 GB memory which will be a hindrance as well.

As you're not looking to run the game on high settings, we should be able to help find a system in your price range that should run the game smoothly on medium settings. I'll take a look on some trustworthy sites and see what I can come up with. :)

Hope this helps, and happy Simming!

The 4gb is expandable to 16gb. If I expanded it. Would that work?

Hi, KittyKittenMittens.

Sorry for taking a bit to respond. I looked a little more into the system's processor and graphics and, unfortunately, I don't think the system will really work that well for The Sims 4. The biggest problem is actually the graphics - after checking the list of compatible video cards for The Sims 4 it shows the graphics card will only play the game on low settings.

Adding more memory will not necessarily help the situation due to the processor and video card issues. Since this is an all-in-one system, it's not as expandable as a desktop. It's essentially a laptop in a big monitor. I did take a look at Amazon, but the couple of systems I found were being sold as gaming systems, but wouldn't play the game on low settings very well. We're still looking. :)

Hope this helps and happy Simming!

MrsFlynn and I did some searching and here's what we found for systems under $500. All three of the systems in the list should play the game on low-medium to medium settings without needing any upgrades:

CyberpowerPC Desktop PC Gamer Ultra 2098 (GU2098) AMD FX-Series FX-4300 (3.80GHz) 8GB DDR3 500GB HDD Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Price: $499.

    AMD FX-Series FX-4300 (3.80GHz)
    8GB DDR3 500GB HDD

    AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB

AMD A8-6500 Processor (3.5 GHz)

==================
CybertronPC Patriot GM1293B Desktop (Black/Blue)

The overall best one on the list is the Cyberpower system from Newegg (the computer listed first). It has a dedicated graphics card with 2 GB memory and should have no problems with medium settings. Let us know what you think.

Hope this helps and happy Simming! :)
