Confused about romancing the boss

When i started my career as a master criminal , i started romancing the boss which is Liara Kozen , everythings been going fine and I've been around a few times.

I noticed she is married and has a child to a Morgan Kozen .. I got the relationship to a point where they were sleeping together and she seems to be in love with my Sim, the last time she came round to the house she was pregnant and by the end of the evening she had gone into labour , i was pretty sure the child would be mine, but when i took her to the hospital , after she gave birth she came out with the baby , followed by my Sim , followed by Morgan Kozen

This is where I'm totally lost , is this the way its supposed to happen or is the game bugged? I don't have any options for her to leave him and get with me , the only option is to break up with Liara ..  i presume this is to finish the relationship?

The game doesn't make things very clear to me anyway

It's been a while since I played Sims 3 on anything but PC, but when Liara finds you "Very Alluring", under "Romantic..." socials, there should be "Ask to break up with Morgan." If she loves you, she'll break up with him. Failing that, Ask her if she's single, then try Ask to break up.

This works for PC Sims 3, and there are multiple similarities between PC and console.

Well, in the PC version, to successfully get another sim to break up with a spouse, their relationship has to be relatively high.  Somewhere between half and 3/4 filled on the long term relationship bar.  Sometimes, you can even get the option under friendly interactions as well as romantic.

But the reason her husband probably followed her out is because he is her husband.  If you really want to know if the child belongs to your sim, check his family tree (if the console version has that).

You can ask the mother to move in and choose your child as well to move in with her (from the 'moving' pop-up). You can then take control of both, but, if you don't want them under your control, just ask her to break up with her husband. They will still live together, but only as roommates. All that I said is about the PC version, but maybe it's available for console too. It's worth checking. Good luck.

I've been playing the console version of the game for a bit now and every time a male sim I'm controlling has a child outside of the family it tells me. So something should've popped up alerting you to the birth of your child. If not, it's probably the other dude's kid.
