How well does The Sims 3 work with only 2 expansions and a few store content(

Hi guys! I was wondering how well the game would perform with only 2 expansions and only a few bits and pieces from the sims 3 store. I heard that the game had eventually ruined many simmers PCs and I was wondering if that would happen to my PC after a while. Could the game with a few expansions actually be linked to a PC breaking down? In the past I have had 4 - 5 expansions on my PC but I never had any real troubles only one loading screen when I continue my save file or start another so it surely should be able to run just two fine, right?

Welcome to the forum Miss Sadie.  The game with a number of expansions will not "break" your computer. If your computer doesn't have high enough spec, then the game itself will be laggy and may freeze or boot you out of the game, but it will not affect the actual computer when you run other programs (unless you are trying to run them together) How your computer handles the game depends on it's specifications.

Oh I see, I thought so. Is it worth implementing Vsync on my PC to stop my video card from overheating as I heard that the game did really overheat simmers PCs, and that in time lead to PCs bricking down and breaking

Hi Miss Sadie,

Implement Vsync if you like, however it won't help with the video card overheating. You'll want a better cooling system to help with that. Depending on what you have - laptop or desktop. With a laptop. Look for a cooling mat. For a desktop you'll want to add extra fans if you're able.

As games of any sort will make your computer run warmer to hot. And having some kind of cooling system in place will keep the computer from frying the video card or frying something else inside the computer.

Many peoples advse to turn on the Vsync for the sims 3 so I'm guessing it really does help. My desktop has two fans though, one near the CPU and one near the left side of the tower so should that help with the overheating if it does. I always keep my room moderately cool too and make sure to look if there is an accumulation of dust in the fans. So would that help with preventing overheating?
