Awaiting opportunities

I have been waiting for the game to give me the gardening opportunity that will let me plant cheese and eggs. Is there any way to have this opportunity appear more quickly?

It's been a few years since I've played on a console, but I did a lot of gardening when I did. Just keep gardening. It always seems to pop eventually. Even at level 10, it can take a while. Just make sure not to accept any other skill opportunities to leave that slot open.
