Can't Find Dig Spots

How long does it take dig spots to regenerate? They seemed to be regenerating every 24 hours, but it's been longer than that and I can't find any!

I was having that problem in my game, mainly the ones in the park in Willow Creek. The ones around the neighborhood seem to respawn quickly, but I went back to the park after like a week sim time and there were none at all.

Dig spots don't regenerate or count down on the regeneration timer if you're not at the lot.  Since it doesn't matter which dig spots you gather from, it's best tp do it from your home lot or lots you spend a lot of time at.

So it's not like Sims 3 where there'd be certain spots where rare items spawned? So it's really pointless travelling all over the worlds digging up every rock?

certain plants only grow in certain places, some fishing spots have different fish, and as for digging spots, it will generate a random type of rock to dig that has different drops.  as fas as I know though, the rocks have no "special" locations like fishing and plants do.
