How to put custom content into my Sims 4 game

I just recently purchased Sims 4 and I love it. I am a HUGE fan of custom content and now that I figured out the game, I am ready to put the CC in my game.  I made a folder that has a few folders in it (the creators names from MOD and TSR are on the folders) and placed it in my mods folder and nothing is showing up in my game.  They have all been unzipped so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When I installed my CC there was already a pre-made Mods folder with the Resource.cfg file in there, I just stuck the unzipped package files in there and they all showed up, so maybe try just putting the files in there by themselves without the extra folders? Hope it works! When my game loaded, I got a notification with a list of the CC i'd installed so that's how you know it's worked
