Can't Get To Work!

Help! My Sim who is in the top of the Business career and is the bread-winner of their family can't get to work since I installed them into Bridgeport! His two brothers in the house are fine, one can get to work in the politics career, and the other can go to school, no problem. But when it is his turn to go to work, there is no prompt available in the car that's outside, or even on his expensive sports car. He's missed work for three days with a warning that he will face disciplinary actions for absenteeism. I've read that turning a Sim into a vampire will make him work again. But NO! I don't want my Sim to be a vampire and I would like him to stay in his present career, but their household finances are dwindling each day he is absent. Please help!

You say you've moved this family to Bridgeport, right?  So your Sim worked in the Business career in another town?  I think the problem may be that the business office in Bridgeport isn't called Doo Peas Tower and that's where your Sim is programmed to go to work.  Try going to Map View and click on the business office (it's called Steve's Business Complex and Restaurant in Bridgeport).  If you get the option to "Transfer Job Here" click on it.  That should clear up the problem and your Sim will be able to go to work.

Thanks! Follow up Qs: Will he remain in Level 10 or start all over again? When do I make the transfer? (upon coming to work? or anytime at all?)

He should remain at level 10.  Make the transfer before his next scheduled work time.  Otherwise, you'll still have the problem of him not going to work and his performance suffering.

I noticed that my Sim didn't change into work clothes when this happened. I don't know if you are able to get them to change into their work clothes or not but this is the key

I had the same problem.

I moved from a apartment to a house and my one sim went to work, the other would not. The command kept canceling.

I had to use the testingcheatsenabled true

Then right click the mailbox and set your career to whatever you were.

I had the next day off like you do when you just start a job but then I never had the issue again.

My Sim is self employed so no problem going to work, however SHE won't go home!  I actually have to do a "go here" and get her on the lot and then I can get her into the house.  Otherwise she just stomps her foot or the queue cancels.

I guess there are a few workarounds for this, some work for some people and the others work for other people, (did that make sense)  I only had the problem once and then the next day, my sim went to work.  Knowing alot of simmers, I am sure alot of people are finding out ways around these issues.
