Disappearing Sims

Help!  I was working my way through the bars and learning drinks with my Sims.  Now in the Prosper Room and Plasma 501, when I ordered a drink there, my Sims disappeared and became invisible.  They also can't do any more actions.  Is there a way to fix this?

Try using resetsim.
