Homework rebellion
« on: October 28, 2014, 06:05:48 PM »
Has anyone else been finding the homework books laying around the world? My sim went for a jog in her neighborhood, and there was a grade school homework book on the footpath on a corner. Then a couple of days later, there was another one in the same street, and I also saw one somewhere else. I am not sure if it's the same book that randomly moves around, or if they are spawning. I can't do anything with them, like pick them up etc. Then my teen sims girlfriend visited, and she left her homework book on the table, had to go into build mode and delete it.
I guess because there's no dogs in the sims to eat homework, sims are conveniently "losing" their homework lol

Yes, sims are just forgetting to pick their homework up again. Mine keeps leaving hers on the dining table at home - lucky the teacher takes her word for it that she has completed it :D

Mine leave theirs on the table all the time. I mean random homework in the world that must come from other sims.

Yes, the other sims also leave their homework lying around. The easiest thing is just to go into buy mode and delete it. They never seem to come back to it.

There's been a homework book in my Willow Creek Park in my legacy file for days and days now. I'm assuming someone will 'pick it up'! I think clearing out your cache files does that... not sure though.  :)

I think it's not only for homework, but for other books too. Well at least for me. I found many people left their book in the park and gym. I think homework is more common because the game automatically spawn it to any children/teens. It's the worst when they are left in the road or community park since you won't be able to delete it using build mode.

I had to read this post because I loved the title "Homework rebellion!"

My teens never put their homework back in their inventory, but my children always do. I think it's part of the game. Think of it as a "reading assignment" haha.

I don't mind it. They always leave it on the kitchen table, but I'm setting up a new "homework area" surrounded by focused decor to help them out.  ;)

I also keep extra homework books around, too, so that they each have one in their inventory and laying around at home. That way they can do their homework on another lot if I need them to.

My teen has a grade school homework book in his inventory. The high school homework has disappeared a couple of times, even though they only seem to do it at home. I have no idea where the grade school one came from, maybe he picked up one laying around in the world.
My Sim went walking down her street one day and put an empty glass down on the path, then it wouldn't let me pick it up, said if needed a bin or sink or something to clean it up. So I left it there, and later it despawned. So if a glass can despawn, why won't the homework? My sim jogs past a wayward homework book every day, and because it's not on a lot, I can't delete it.

Well, even if you can't delete it, the important thing is that you can always buy more from the bookshelf for 1 simoleon each.  :)

It's not my Sims homework, though. I thought maybe they threw it away when they aged up, but one of my teen sims still had his grade school homework as well as high school homework.
It's not a huge problem, there doesn't seem to be any more of it spawning. I used to play sims 3 on console, and that was notorious for having cars get stuck in the street and start accumulating, I just don't want to walk down a path made of homework books lol

@Stormi71, could it possibly be this bug, reported on the EA forum? They say that kids come home from school, but first do their homework on the sidewalk and then just leave it there. Check it out.

It could have been that. It might not have been my sims, either, as I have placed my own households and had quite a few kids in the street. My sims always seemed to come straight home from school, though, never saw them doing homework in the street.
