Date Progress Not Advancing

I seem to be having a bug with dates. Sometimes, the progress for "Socialize with your date" will not advance no matter how many times they interact. The subtasks (such as flirt, tell jokes, ect) will update and advance correctly, but the main goal will be stagnant. Is there any way to resolve this without ending and restarting the date? Thanks.

It happens with parties as well. I found that deleting the cache files and then clicking on the game in the origin "my Games" panel and 'repairing game' really made a difference. Well, for a while anyway. After playing through the Party Animal aspiration it's all back to not progressing despite actually meeting the requirements as you say.
