Finding Elements
« on: October 27, 2014, 01:51:17 AM »
Does anyone have information on how to find the elements?  My Sim digs up everything else, but no elements.  Are there special spawning places or anything?

Once you have dug up metals and crystals, you can then use an interaction "send to geo council $20". This send the metal or crystal away instantly. Soon, the next day, you will get an element back in the mail.
Depending on which crystal/metal you send you will get different elements back.

To find out what your crystal/metal is made of (which elements) you can use the 'call geo council about sample'. This makes  your sim use their phone, then you get a notification telling you which element your crystal/metal is mostly made up off (the largest amount is which element you get back)

All interactions are accessed by clicking on the metal or crystal.

This is a good link and page two has Ciosa's post where he has a link to his collections crib sheet... which is fantastic for finding out which crystal gives you which element.

Your welcome, nice to be able to 'give it forward'. You know, pass on the good help I've had here since day 1. :)

Elements are DEFINITELY the hardest collection to complete. I've completed all of the collections except that one, mostly because I don't want to mail in my last samples of the metals and crystals that have a chance of returning the element "firaxium."

I "called the geo council" about every single metal and crystal and typed up their response as to which elements they are made of. If anyone wants that list let me know. I'm happy to share. It took way too long.  ;)

Here is a cool pic of the Element Display Rack *almost* completed though.

Updated: 30 Oct 2014: It's complete now!  :)

Each element in the rack gives off a Focusing Decor of either 2 or 3. I'm not sure if the entire rack actually gives off more than a total of "3" when there are multiple elements in it. I still have a lot to learn in regards to the way emotional decor works and adds up. I'm trying to figure it out, though.

I feel your pain lindsayoderberg, in the end I HAD to send my jet away to get wolfium... I just couldn't handle not having the element collection unfinished!  :P

Or was it simtanium to get plumbobus??  Maybe I need to share your elements list! Either way it was confusing and long-winded!

Wow, I just discovered something super useful. Once you "call the geo council" about a metal (but not a crystal), and place it in the sim's house, when THAT SIM is selected, put the mouse cursor over it, and it will tell you what elements it's made of! You don't have to keep calling, and you don't have to write it all down like I did...

cool, the list is still useful though for you... because think about how much you learnt going through the process of making it!  ;)
