For the moment, EA has reduced the price of the Sims 4 by $10 on Origin.

You can get the Standard Edition for $49.99, and the Digital Deluxe Edition for $59.99

I certainly understand waiting for a price drop. 

Of course, give it enough time, and the base game will certainly drop more than this.

That's quite alright   And when another sale (or a permanent price drop) is made, there is certain to be an announcement.

No sale for me either - still showing $59.99 for the standard & $69.99 for the deluxe - I will wait to get it when it's lower in price. I can't justify paying $70 for a game that has alot less content than Sims 3 right now

SimsVIP is reporting that Origin UK (United Kingdom) is selling Sims 4 for 30% off until October 24th.  I can't personally attest to this (living in the US), but it may be something to check out if you live in the UK.

Yes, I can confirm this: it's £41.81 for the Digital Deluxe version or £34.84 for the basic download. (Strange prices  )
