Knocking on Doors Isn't An Option

I seem to have come across a 'new' bug. When I travel to a neighbours house the option to 'knock on door' is no longer there. I can see the neighbours through the window, I can hear them, I know they were there when I moused over them in map view. I can walk around their garden/veranda etc... but there simply is no option to knock on the door.
I can't make my sim walk into the house and I have reset everyone, cleared the cache, restarted etc.
In a brand new game a brand new sim could visit neighbours/knock on doors as usual but in my legacy file, like I said, the option is just not there anymore.
Any ideas? Or have you experienced this too?

Same happened to me with the house next to Mortimer Mansion. I did not found a solution yet.

Thanks, Reubenhood (lol, love your username by the way), that was the error thread I had been looking for but couldn't find. I've added a report. Fingers crossed it gets noticed and fixed  :)

Sorry, I couldn't help at all lol. Just wished the same thing, hopefully it would be noticed and be fixed in the next patch. Finger crossed too :)

If I remember correctly clearing cache in sims 3 used to fixed random bugs. If so you may want to try that. Crinrict has release a How to Delete Cache Files over on his blog. Not sure if it will help but I hope so.

I have this problem too. Starting a new game then reloading you origional save game seems to temporarily fix it but the bug always returns. It is probably the biggest game play affecting bug atman Ea don't have a solution yet.

I've already done this, thanks though justproud2b. It didn't solve the problem.  ::)
