How to feed Omni plant?

I don't know if it's some kind of bug, or I just don't know how to do it.  When I click on the Omni plant "feed", nothing happens, no action gets queued up.  Is my Sim supposed to place an item on the ground, in front of the plant, and then click "feed"?

He is a gardener and an angler, so has a huge inventory of plants and fish.  Could that possibly be what's confusing the Omni plant? 

Any ideas?

The item is suppose to be in your inventory.  When you click feed, it should open up a box that shows what you have in your inventory to feed the plant.  Have you tried clearing your cache and restarting?  Sounds like a bug when you click feed and nothing happens.

It could be that your inventory is too large and it's taking the game a long time to compile the list. If you were to leave it sitting there, the list would probably eventually come up. Then you would have the task of scrolling through that list to find what you're looking for. I suggest that you empty your inventory of all but a few items and then try to feed the Omni plant again.

I have tried emptying the cache, but it didn't help (though, it made the consignment store work again!).  I'll have to tediously whittle down his inventory, then...  I will update with the results.

You can put your inventory in the refrigerator, cabinet (from supernatural xpac), or chest (from World Adventure).  You can also move the whole stack, no need to do it one by one.

I transferred many hundreds of produce items to the fridge (thank the creators for move stack!) and my Sim can now successfully feed his Omni plants!  Well, his one Omni plant, as the others have been eaten by the horse...  But that's another story.
