I get the same feeling. Great looking house!
When I do start playing, like making a family and such, I'd utilise some of these houses. I want a sort of theme for the different worlds. I'm not too happy with the "trailer homes" that maxis placed.

You could easily extend the left wall into the patio area as well to give a bit more inside living space. I love the new build mode.
