Hosting social events at other places

How do I get more places to show up in the list I can choose from when trying to throw a party? I have a goal to attend parties at 10 different places. Sometimes the lounges show up, sometimes they don't, sometimes my friends houses show up - how do I get more places? I'm stuck at 7 unique locations.

I'm not sure about other community lots but I've only been able to host parties at other sims houses if they are at 'good friend' status (or above). I haven't done any testing but it was something that I noticed yesterday. Also if the friendship decayed then the option for my sim to hold a party there disappeared.

Good to know playalot - and it makes sense too - right? You'd never let someone not a good friend of yours host a party at your house (if even then).
