Cooking confusion
« on: September 10, 2014, 02:57:40 PM »
I'm just about to toss in the towel at this madness, but I can't figure out what to do with those 2500$ books for cooking in the skills section. *bought the books* I got level 10 on both gourmet and the regular cooking, but it still won't work on those books. Help please.

Welcome to our Forum, shinigamivixen.  It doesn't do anything for my max level chef either, I bought those $2500 books thinking I'm going to learn more recipes, but I was so wrong.

Here I thought I did something or forgot to do something. Glad to know I'm not the only one bashing my head over this.  And thank you for the welcome. Though what are those books for if we can't learn anything from them? I've tried scouring the net for answers but no one has yet to make a guide on cooking.

I did a test on a brand new sim with that book, is just a cooking book that increase your cooking skill.  For $2,500 that is not worth it, much cheaper and easier to level cooking the old fashion way, cook.

Carl is working on the guides and will get to cooking soon.

Ordinary cooking book for 2500$. The biggest scam of the bookstore! Oh well, I was hoping to learn that shrimp recipe on one of the pictures. Thanks for the info and yays, thank you Carl!

I was thinking, but I haven't tested it yet... Maybe that 2500 book is for the recipes in the cupcake factory? It's a different appliance in the buy menu.

I tried that with my chef, book doesn't do anything.  I still have the same amount of cupcake recipes after reading the book.

Could it have anything to do with the foodie trait?

I bought that book, thinking maybe it was all the recipes in one book, and we'd just read through it each time we increased a skill and learn the new recipes. Then I saw it said that you automatically learn recipes as you level up.
What was the actual title of the book? Something about 13 recipes and baking and I recall something about flour? Maybe the cupcake maker thing has a certain amount of recipes, and then when you master those, you can learn more from that book?
