Invention Table

My sim caught on fire and died while trying to invent indefinitely. To prevent this from happening again should their mood be up high or something?

Did you mean to post this on the Console board?  I'm not aware that it has an inventing table.

I think catching fire at the inventing table is a random thing. To prevent her from dying you should have a shower, pool or steam trap handy so she can jump in to put the fire out.

The inventing table came with Pets on the console, and yes, keep a shower nearby. Even Fireproof Homestead doesn't help.

I selected the sims 3 console board and it told me that's where it was posted

Also it helps to have a fire alarm near the table, because the fire department might get there quick enough to put your sim out but having a shower nearby is better.  Also, don't put anything flammable nearby in case a fire starts.
