Moving new Sim into Saved Game

I have already been playing with one married couple in one household. I have them at the point to where I can feel confident to leave them "on their own" while I play another Sim character independently at the moment.

I clicked on "Edit Town" and the list of available Sims popped up. Problem is, how exactly do I move my "new" Sim into a new house? I tried clicking on the house itself, but the "Choose Household" option is no longer there.

first of all you need to 'change active household' ... then you can select a new household, move in a new family or CAS to move into the game :-)
