First time modder in need of some help please?
« on: August 15, 2014, 08:30:32 AM »
Hi Guys,
I'm brand new to this forum and to modding my game. I've been playing sims since I was a little girl and am still addicted to it haha! Well yesterday I finally managed to install my mods/packages folders unlike some of my sims I'm not very tech savvy and I normally require a very simplistic guide in installing things.
What I'm really interested in having is new sliders as I can never get my self sim to look like me! So yesterday I downloaded sliders and realistic looking eyes, the eyes are fantastic but I had to delete the sliders as they didn't work very well but the worst part was that they made the original EA sliders stop working!
I'm starting to think it's hopeless :(
So if anybody could leave me some links to sliders that will actually work with an easy step by step guide I would really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance  ;D

You need Nraas Master Controller to use -any- extra sliders.

So go grab that, then the ones you have should work. :)

EDIT: And this is specifically how you do it.

I have a number of custom sliders installed, but when I go into CAS I do not see all the sliders, why ?

To unlock the ability to have more than the EA Standard number of sliders, you must be running the custom version of CAS provided by MasterController.
By default, custom CAS is only called when you use the "NRaas \ Master Controller" interactions directly.

If you attempt to run CAS from "Edit Town", you are running the EA version of CAS, which does not handle more sliders properly.
You will need to install the Integration module, an optional component of MasterController, to unlock that capability.
Integration will also replace the Shift-Click "Edit Sim in Create A Sim" interaction with custom CAS, allowing you to use that interaction as well.

So you need Nraas Master Controller with the Interactions add on. You can find it easily on the Nraas site. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link it, so search google for Nraas Master Controller and you'll find everything you need. :)

Just be aware the custom sliders may not work when you first create a new household. You -might- have to create the sim, go in game and then send them BACK to Create-a-Sim to get it working.

Custom sliders are not something I have particularly messed about with. :)
