Using Mod Overwatch

I've been attempting to download the mod Overwatch for my game on mac to reduce the lag, but I've never modded my game before and I seem to be doing something wrong.

I've followed many different sets of instructions as to how to mod the sims 3 on mac, and have done exactly that. I created a Mods folder in the Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder and have put a Packages folder in there where I then put my Overwatch mod and I also put in the latest (or at least what I think is the latest) Resources.cfg file and put that in the Mods folder.

After doing all that which I believe is the correct steps I have opened up my game where apparently a box needs to be checked to activate the mod, but that is no where to be found. When I play on one of the saved files and click on the city hall to find the option to activate the mod it isn't there!

I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong and would love to be able to play my game again without the lag :/. Could someone with experience as to how to use this on mac please help!

This will likely be moved to the Game Mods forum.  I haven't set it up on a Mac before so I'm hoping someone who has will be able to help you.

I will say - make sure you've installed the Mods folder here:

/Users/<username>/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/

Not in the Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder by itself.  The above address is where the game also stores save games, etc.

If you only see folders that say Caches, Game, GameData, Support and Thumbnails, you're in the wrong place.

If you're in the right place you'll see folders like Collections, ContentPatch, Custome Music, DCBackup, DCCache, etc.

So make sure you've set up your Mods folder in the right place.

Yeh that's where I've put it in, really not sure why it's not working hopefully someone will have an idea. Thanks for the reply anyway though!

I've never used any mods in Sims 3, and don't really know anything about getting them to work, however I do know that with cheats that you, for example, have to click on the letterbox to work, you need to enter testingcheatsenabled true into the command line you get by pushing <CTRL> <SHIFT> C in Windows and whatever the Mac equivalent to that is. I don't know if that is something you need to do with mods, but if it is, and you haven't done that, would you try doing that and seeing if that does anything for you?
